In the Committee\u2019s view, the proposed consent decree would represent a significant step forward in improving the operations of the Chicago Police Department. The Attorney General\u2019s Office has done a good job in putting together this proposed decree and we applaud its efforts. However, we also recognize that in some areas the City has not been willing to go far enough in the proposed decree.
